ScoutHi!! My name is Scout. I got my name because I am the first one to find something to chase: a bird, a squirrel-- it doesn't matter to me-- I just want to find it first! I've been in my foster home for a while now and every Saturday we go to Cabarrus Pets Society where I sit, wait, and wish for someone to adopt me, but somehow they always pass me by. My foster Mom tells me that it's because most people worry about getting a dog who has a limp. Let me explain: when I was younger, I had a shoulder injury on my front leg which caused the tendon to get tighter and tighter. It was causing me pain and getting so bad that I couldn’t use my leg. Thankfully, the folks at Cabarrus Pets Society took me in & I was able to get the surgery I needed to fix the problem. The vet had to cut the tendon in my leg to release the leg muscle so that I could use of my leg. Unfortunately, there was already some permanent nerve damage so I will always walk with a limp. I am not in any pain at all now and the vet has given me a clean bill of health. He says I should be fine and have no more problems out of that leg. My limp doesn’t stop me from doing fun things and I have a great big heart full of love.
What I wish for most is a family to call my very own. I am very affectionate and really love people. If you give me a chance, I promise to be your constant companion. I am a very active fellow, so I'm looking for a home with a fenced yard so I can get the exercise I need. I am house trained, use a doggy door, neutered, micro-chipped, get along great with other dogs, and up to date on vaccinations. Even though I am a little different, they tell me all the time that I am a handsome & loving fellow. I know that my forever home is out there somewhere and until I find it, I'll keep sitting, waiting, and wishing!

We have a tremendous need for more foster homes and would love your help. Without good, Volunteers Needed to Provide Foster Homes !!dependable foster homes, we are unable to rescue many dogs that are in need because we have no place for them. It breaks our heart when we have to turn deserving animals away. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, click on the photo for more information. Thank you!!
